2 1/2 years clean!

This past week end was my 2 1/2 year checkup. Me and Tyler and Lorelei flew out late Friday after meeting up with my parents in Boise. They went off to a week of spoilage at my parents and barely even said goodbye. we flew off hoping to have a good little traveler on our hands! She did amazing! We spent the weekend with Tyler's dad and Sisters family. they on Monday morning I headed to Stanford. Lets just say it was way to early. My blood sugar came back 101 (borderline prediabetic) and I feel asleep in the petct, first time I have ever done that! went and got my blood work done and then drove back to get Tyler and Lorelei for my doctors apt later on. Mind you after my Petct I wasn't allowed to hold or nurse Lorelei, very tramatic for me, and she sure didn't like to take a bottle at first, but we all got through it! We went and showed Lorelei off the the nurses in the ITA and then to Doc Advani. My blood work came back good and my PetCt was clean! We flew back that night and Lorelei was wonderful, slept the whole flight! We have been enjoying a very quiet hose since we got back, Lorelei is bored and is wondering where her entertainment is, (she smiles and laughs every time we get to see them on the webcam) and I miss my boys! We get to go get them on Friday! and the baby blessing is coming up! Aug 7, so I better go get to cleaning! One nice thing about the boys being gone, everything I cleaned yesterday is still clean! wahoo! :)

8 year anniversary pictures

I love the daddy daughter one!

8 years babe! And these crazy kids are all we have to show for it! :)

I have to say these are my least favorite anniversary pictures we have ever taken! Apparently 3 kids under 6 makes for a very interesting experience! The first picture was the best one and it went down hill from there. Want some proof how much fun this was? See below.

Screaming baby. Cranky 5 year old abd 3 year old not looking! Fun! :)

Solar oven

Kevin watched a show and picked up the idea of using the sun to cook
food. So he came in grabbed a box and started building... Later when
we were BBQ, Kevin had to cook his hot dog in it, not enough sun, So
Tyler cooked it on the BBQ, wrapped it in foil and Kevin cooked it
with the power of sun, he ate it! Here he is showing it off!

The baby story...

So on tuesday the 26th about 6 pm, I started having contractions, they were painful enough to notice, but far enough apart that I just kept cleaning/organizing, Tyler got home and I kept asking him what time it was, he had no clue, but that was when I was having contractions, they started a hour apart, then got closer, about half hour apart, About 9ish I told him that I was having contractions, we just kept cleaning, put the boys down and called Jen to warn her that we weren't ready to go in, but it was looking like 3am might be an option. She said let her know if we needed her, about 11, I was still having contractions so i figured i should go to bed before they got too bad. I slept from 11:30 to 4:30 and then woke up with stronger contractions, at that point we started timing them, and they went from 2:30 minutes apart to 8 minutes apart depending on if I was sitting up or laying down... so we kept timing them until about 8 when we went and woke up the boys and got them ready and dropped them off at Jens, They were so excited, Kevin went to preschool like normal and they got to hang out with Jen and Tegan the rest of the day...
Me and Tyler got to the Hospital about 9 and I was dilated to a 5! Wahoo, less than 2 hours later I was at a 7, they broke my water and from that point on the contractions were bad and were right on top of one another, less that 45 minutes later I asked what my pain medicine options were, they told me I was at a 9 and only an intrathecal (sp?) And at the point I knew that the anesthesiologist was never going to make it in time, it was too late. So in no time flat, they were calling the doctor in and I was ready to push. No drugs. Once she was born (after about 15 minutes of pushing) I looked at her and all I could say was "she is huge!" Once they weighed her in the nurse asked the doctor how heavy he thought she was, he said atleast 9, She was 10 lbs! So much for the doctors telling me I was having at 8.5 lb baby. So the hardest part of labor was only 3.5 hours.. so much better than the Cameron that drug out forever .Other than the cramping getting worse with each pregnancy (which I didn't believe was true until this baby) After lots of vomiting on my part from the pain, We are both happy and healthy. She is the most "newborn baby" I have had, neither Kevin or Cameron slept as much as her, and she is happiest when she is laying down, not being held! She is crankiest between 2 and 4 in the morning, but we are working on that. She is eating great and the doctor says her eye development is ahead, (just like the boys was). I am getting used to all the pink, and saying how "pretty" she is instead of "handsome". My Mom and Dad drove in town that day as a surprise and my mom has been here since. We are adjusting well, and they boys adore her, no jealousy yet, and they just can't get enough of her. I keep finding them where she is, with blankets trying to cuddle, always kissing her, and of course Cameron can stop touching her face!
We love her to pieces! And yes, I will post pictures soon!

False Alarm...

I woke up this morning a little before 5 with contractions, and the pain seamed to get worse and worse, by the time the boys woke up around 8 I was vomiting, I told Tyler on my way there I was thinking of getting an epidural with this one cause it hurt so bad, I have never had one before so He knew something was up. when we get there she checks me and I am only at a one, but I mentioned me urine sample and it started them looking at it, turns out I have a bladder infection which was painful and causing contractions too. They already had me on fluids for the vomiting and nausea drugs, then they brought in the pain pills and last the antibiotics once the labs came back in, they sent me home with more antibiotics and pain pills, and told me they were glad I came it, and that I should come back if anything else goes wrong. I have to say I was shaking and had chills, and was begging for pain meds, my poor boys thought they were gonna get their sister and all they got was one very tired momma! Thanks goes out to Tegan for taking the boys on such short notice! Love you!

Update..

So the last month has been busy! Cameron started up speech again, and is now in physical therapy for his legs, Kevin is finishing up preschool and we spent two weeks in Washington with my parents and brother! My mom got her left knee replaced so I went to "help". Not sure bringing a 3 and 5 year old and being 33 weeks pregnant is a lot of help, but we tried! Plus I got a lot done! I made the babies blanket and curtains, plus a few other baby things, plus my Mom mended a whole lot of clothes for me! Really a whole tub of "projects" done! Very nice! It was nice to spend some time with my parents and my brother who was able to stay for a week or so! Of course the weather in Washington was actual spring weather so the dogs and the boys loved it!

I am now 35 weeks pregnant and wishing she would drop just so I could breath a little easier. We almost have the nursery ready, just need to drop some stuff at the DI, put the crib together and put a couple more boxes in the garage. My hospital bag is packed and I have the boys bag packed for the neighbors so I won't worry about them until Uncle Ken or my Mom can get to them...

The boys are looking forward to planting the garden, so we will be planting the seeds (inside the house) this weekend. Tyler got a new calling he is now the 11 year old scout leader. I am still working in the Cub scouts and enjoying Primary more and more that the boys are doing better in their classes. Looking forward to General Conference this weekend, plus Kevin is starting up Soccer this weekend and we are signing him up for T-ball this year! He is growing up so fast! He lost his two bottom front teeth today! While I was at PT with Cameron, Tyler got the first one out, after Kevin bit into a piece of Pizza, Then when I came home and Tyler went to pack meetin ghe wiggled the other one out enough to come out he didn't even cry with the one I pulled out! (thank goodness, cause I was almost in tears!) My baby is growing up! I am trying to make a better effort of listening to him more, his stories are so.... i can't even explain (real) at least to him, plus his comprehension is amazing, I am really glad he missed the cutoff for Kindergarden, he just has grown so much in the last year, I believe (as does his preschool teacher) He is ready now! Which is good considering we have Kindergarten registration is a couple of weeks... April is going to be a busy month!

Wednesday, February 16

It's been a while...

We've been busy around here, for one, I started nesting, which I don't ever remember doing like this before, my closets are organized! They actually have purposes around here, all the laundry it caught up on, and I have a growing DI pile! Feels so good! The kids have places for there toys and they actually are getting good at putting them there, and I have been able to keep up on the dishes, it makes me think I might actually be able to pull off this three kid thing... maybe.
Other than than, we have been getting Kevin ready for Kindergarten and going to Disneyland, knowing all the essentials, phone number, address, names, and that jazz.
Getting Cameron ready for Preschool next year... trying to get him back into speech to help finish off the speech stuff, and trying to get him into physical therapy for his knees/walking on his toes. Darn kid.
Tyler is finishing up wrestling, Districts is today, state is next weekend... busy busy busy. He is now teaching his second IDLA class and is picking up another one next week, he seems to be enjoying it.
Then we are getting "baby girls" bedroom ready, it is pretty much a disaster, but it is where the "whole house organization" thing started so I am grateful! I got all my craft stuff out, as well as our extra pantry food, and put the baby stuff in there (crib, etc. )Well I had to clean out the pantry to fit the extra food in there, and wow! I love it, then I had to go through all the drawers and cupboards in the kitchen, then I moved to the entry way closet, hall closet, then guest room closet, there is now room for guests to put stuff in there now! and last but not least I tackled our master bedroom closet.. A MAZE ING I tell you! I can find stuff, I fit all my craft stuff in there and got rid of a whole lot of clothes! Feels so good! The house stays so much cleaner now! Me and my labeler are good friends! (now if only I could find some motivation to clean the floors!) but I sure am grateful for the whole nesting thing! wow!
I have all the material for the babies blanket and curtains which I will be doing while at my Moms place next month for her knee replacement, so that is good news!
In other words we have been busy! Only ten weeks more for our little bundle of joy to show up! Wahoo! We had our ultrasound last Thrusday, she is growing strong about 3lbs 4oz and we are on our way to a healthy 8.5 lb baby! Good news! Turns out the reason they wanted this ultrasound was because on the previous ultrasound there was a measurement in the babies brain that threw up some red flags, hydrocephalus maybe? but the measurement turned up fine this time, so no worries! ( so glad they didn't tell us until after this ultrasound!) Funny thing is I have been so busy organizing, I haven't stocked up like normal on things like Dreft, nursing pads, shampoo, baby wash, etc) Good thing I realized! lol. All in time, All in time, I know. Plus I need to send the hubby up in the attic to dig out the car seat and unisex stuff, I am sure he is o so excited about that! sorry babe, not sure I can fit up there anymore! Have I mentioned I am HUGE! yep I don't remember feeling this big this early! Sleep is hard and this baby girl is ACTIVE, very ACTIVE! ALL day and ALL night! I am in for it, I can just tell! :)
WOW! that was a whole lot of rambling!

Sunday, January 9

Oh the memories!

So in preperation for our little bundle of joy, we have been explaining to the boys about how babies can't do anything, they can't feed themselves or get themselves dressed, or talk, how mommy will have to do it all for them, and how cool it is to be 3 and 5 because your a big boy and can put your own shoes on and open the door for yourself and put your own seatbelt on..etc. Then Kevin starts talking about how he will change the baby's diaper for us, and Tyler says well maybe if youare really good maybe mommy will let you help bathe the baby in the sink.... "in the sink?! Why would the baby take a bath in the sink?" well that is where we used to bathe you! WHAT!? so of course we got the videos out and showed the boys how they used to bathe in the sink etc. then they started asking questions, Cameron asked about a binky that was in one of his hospital pictures (he never took binkie so they are foreign to him) and Kevin explained it is like a bottle only different :) then he asked what was the thing was on his stomach, I explained that was the cord that connected him to me when he was in my belly, and how he used to eat, they thought that was pretty cool! Kevin said I used to be connected to you! and I told him yes, he used to be connected to me! (heck, I grew every cell in your body buddy!) so we showed them some more videos, cute ones where Kevin is holding Cameron on the couch and won't let daddy pick him up because he is taking a picture with his baby... not daddy's baby! videos where Kevin is under one years old playing with his music toys in his room on the floor, and the house is completely silent as i sneak video from the hallway, I noticed there is a very busy 2 year old in all of Cameron's baby videos, noticed I had two in diapers, and Kevin was SO YOUNG... he would speak in full sentences but you only understood the "yes', "no", "ok," and "pictures" out of the whole sentence... so cute! And another thing, I noticed how clean my floors were! and how many places Kevin has lived in his short little life, our apartment in Rexburg, my parents house, Tylers parents house, our Jerome duplex, our Jerome house, our Oklahoma rental and then back here in our Jerome house, thats more moves than years he has been alive! Its so fun to look back! When i started getting stuff out to make the baby a quilt, the boys asked what i was doing, so i went and got out their baby blankets, they keep telling me house much they love them! So then me and Tyler had to go hunt down our baby blankets, they boys told me mine is "broken", and Tyler's is definitely wearing thin! Oh the memories!

on my mind...

So lately this whole having a daughter things has been on my mind, the difference between raising sons and daughters has become mind boggling. As I was sitting at the sewing machine last night (sewing Camerons lightening McQueen scripture bag) I was thinking, I have teach this girl how to sew! I don't even know what I am am doing, and I have to teach her how to sew? yikes! (yep, I will be working on my skills!) then I was thinking about a few years back, when I was the young womens camp director, I found out the girls didn't know that if you put bread in with cooking the cookies will stay soft, i.e. another thing I need to teach my girls, that hadn't even crossed my mind to teach my boys! I have to teach them how to cook, and clean, and be "ladies" and be willing to open a door for themselves but be grateful for a boy who will do it for them. Where as my parenting of my boys has been mostly teaching them to be gentleman (many of you would say I have failed, but my boys do have manners, they are just not well behaved :) say please, and thank you and excuse me, and open doors for girls and old people! Then I started thinking about other stuff I have to do with girls, training bras, the color pink! I have never liked the color pink! I mean with my boys I could always send coach Tyler to the sporting goods store to pick up their jock straps, but with the girls I am pretty sure I won't be able to send him into the bra department! AHHH~! I think this whole I have never been a girly, girl thing is coming around to bite me in the butt!
One good thing is, Tyler loves to bake, so he will be picking up that slack in that department, I have never been a good baker, so at least all the kids will know how to bake. And I am sure I can share my 5 good dinner recipes with them too... ( add that to my list, figure out some good meals to teach my kids so they don't live off of rice-a-roni and tortillas at college like I did)...
And this cleaning thing, this teaching them how to multi-task, and smile while doing it thing.... hmmm.... maybe what I need to do is work on myself a little bit huh?
This girl has already been a lot more stress then the boys! :)

Monday, December 27

It's a girl!

We took the boys to the ultrasound today, and it was hilarious! The boys disagreed the whole way there over if it was gonna me a "mommy" or a "daddy". Cameron said it was gonna be a Mommy and Kevin said it was gonna be a Daddy, we has a small break down on our hands when we found out it was gonna be a girl! I think Kevin was more distraught over his brother being "right" then having a sister... seems that that part didn't really phase him. I have to say I am a little worried for this poor girl growing up with these two for brothers! Anyways, the baby girl was being pretty difficult, she didn't want to show her parts, or anything for that matter, she was curled up with her feet and hands up by her face so the pictures aren't very clear.. but the tech said she thought 85% girl. Now the only problem is figuring out a name,we can't decide between Lorelei or Ginnylynn...So take you vote and let us know!.. the boys like Lorelei and Tyler likes Ginnylynn and I have no idea! Tyler even stopped by and picked up a pink outfit and when we drove by Home Depot, he picked out paint samples for the babies room... been an interesting day!

Oh, the baby looks healthy, about 1lb 2oz, and is measuring 22 weeks, while I am 22 weeks 3 days! couldn't ask for better news! and the technician mentioned how long her legs were, must be Powers legs, and not Wardle legs~HaHa! :)

Christmas letter 2010

December 2010-

We send our wishes for a great holiday season with lots of love to your family this year. This year has been a busy one, with lots going on.

We traveled this summer with Tyler’s side of the Family to Bear Lake where we enjoyed ski doos, horseback riding, hiking, and four wheelers, along with the beach and family. In August we traveled with Catherine’s side of the family to Denver to meet up for her Great Grandmothers 100th birthday!

Kevin is in his last year of preschool and impresses us each day with how fast he is learning. He got glasses in September and seems to grow up a little more each day! He is learning to write and impresses us with his notes all the time. His favorite things include Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon and Dinosaurs. As always he had fun in swim lessons, enjoyed his first team sports this year with spring and fall soccer, and seems to be getting the hang of it.

Cameron is a champ, wants to be big like his brother and is our cuddler. His favorite things inclued frogs and Lightening McQueen. Cameron enjoys coloring and letters. He’s having surgery on the 20th of December. It should take care of a small speech problem so that he can finally be heard! He enjoyed swim lessons this year and proved to us he is a fish!

Catherine is busy with a 5 and 3 year old plus her primary calling at Chruch. She is enjoying this holiday season more than normal because she is on the all you can eat plan, expecting our third baby April 29th. Already halfway there and looking forward to finding out if this babe is a girl or a boy on the 27th. She hits 2 years cancer free in February and is excited to add to our family.

Tyler is keeping busy! With his Technology teaching job at Jerome High, teaching Spanish online for IDLA, coaching wrestling, and looking forward to starting his PhD up again sometime next summer, his plate is full. He enjoyed leading the district technology crew this summer and looks forward to doing it again next summer, too.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from our family to yours.

Love, The Idaho Wardles

Tyler, Catherine, Kevin, Cameron and baby #3
